Make It a Golden Hour Day

Make It a Golden Hour Day

Something we didn't fully predict when we opened Golden Hour: how many of you would turn a salon appointment into an entire day.

We thought we were adding a coffee bar. What we actually did was give people a reason to stop rushing — to book the 9am, order the second latte, and let the afternoon go where it goes. And it turns out a lot of you were waiting for permission to do exactly that.

We've watched it all summer. The 9am latte that becomes a color appointment that becomes lunch that becomes a glass of wine while your gloss processes. The friend who came "just to keep you company" and left with a spray tan booked. The solo appointment that became the most restful few hours on someone's calendar. It happens often enough now that we stopped calling it a coincidence and started calling it the plan. So we're making it official. Here's the itinerary.

Morning — arrive early, on purpose.

The café hits its stride at 9am, and then it really blooms with life. Order the Cookies and Cream if you want to know why it's our best-seller — brown sugar, cookie spread, and cookies-and-cream milk, and yes, it tastes like the name promises. Order The Golden Hour if you want to know why we named the whole place after it: organic wildflower honey, cinnamon, milk of choice, the late-afternoon-in-a-cup house signature. Wellness crowd, we see you — Blue Healer, butterfly pea and lavender over house lemonade, color-shifting and calm. No notes. Come early enough to actually sit with it. The day's going to move fast after this.

The chair — the only salon where the coffee comes to you.

Here's the part people loooove: you don't have to choose between your appointment and your latte. Order from your phone and it arrives at your station, mid-foil, no getting up. Foils and a Vanilla Bloom Matcha is a legitimate lifestyle, and we will not be taking questions. Long color service? That's a full menu's worth of time to work through — a matcha to start, something adaptogenic when the afternoon dip hits, a sparkling something while you wait on toner. The chair has never been more comfortable, and that was always the point.

The Lounge — build in a glow.

Airbrush tans, facials, waxing, head spa — all are officially bookable, and this is where the day starts compounding. Stack one after your hair appointment — spray, then dress, then drinks — and we'll sequence the whole thing for you at booking so nothing overlaps and nothing rushes. (Custom Norvell solution, buildable and streak-free; standard or express depending on how soon you need to be glowing.) And book your head spa — scalp reset and deep restoration built in the same slow-down-on-purpose spirit as everything else here.

Golden hour — the namesake move.

You've earned the last stop. Daily happy hour runs 4–6pm: $2 off wines by the glass, wine cocktails, and N/A options — because the wind-down should be for everyone. The charcuterie plate exists for exactly this moment: cured meats, cheese, house accoutrements, the kind of thing that turns "one glass before I go" into another hour with your person. You've been here all day. Your color's fresh, your tan's developing, your feet are up. Stay one more hour. This is the part of the day the whole place is named for.

Coming from Milwaukee or Chicago?

We're ~fifteen minutes from downtown Milwaukee, which makes us less of a trip and more of a slightly-better-than-usual Tuesday. And we're a very reasonable day trip from Chicago, which is exactly the kind of thing that's better with a plan and a passenger. Either way: book the appointment, bring your person, make the day of it. Brookfield is closer than you think and better than you'd expect.

Book the chair at here (or text/email). See the café at goldenhourbrookfield.com. We'll handle the rest.
