4 Years, Infinite Magic — LO DOWN, Vol. 6

Hi friend,

We’re officially four years into this wild, beautiful White Brick ride—and if the construction clanging next door hasn’t already told you, things aren’t slowing down anytime soon 😉

This month marks our salon anniversary, and with it, a little reflection. Back in June of 2021, we were in the middle of a brand shoot for what would become our current space. The hair was perfect, the lighting was right… and somehow, Brandon managed to turn that moment into a proposal. Yep—our salon’s story and my own love story have always been intertwined. And as we enter our fourth year, I’m feeling that same energy again: a little magic, a little chaos, and a whole lot of love.

If you hear construction noise during your next visit, just know—we’re cooking something. Can’t say what (yet), but it’s aligned with everything we believe in:

beauty, connection, and creating space to be seen.

Here’s to another year of transformation — inside and out.

xo,

Lo & Your White Brick Team

Growth has been knocking lately—and I’ve been saying yes. Yes to dreaming bigger, hiring new team members, expanding what we offer, and stepping into the version of me who can hold more.

What I’m learning? Growth doesn’t always feel like momentum. Sometimes it’s quiet, stretchy, even a little uncomfortable. But every time I’ve chosen to expand instead of shrink, something beautiful follows.

If life’s asking more of you right now — good. It means you’re becoming the person who can handle it. Let that stretch shape you. You’re ready.

Here’s what helps me when I’m stepping into more:

✨ Train your nervous system to feel safe with more. Even 60 seconds of deep breathing or grounding before you say yes to something new rewires your body to welcome expansion instead of fear it.

🧠 Act “as if” with micro-decisions. Your brain builds identity through repetition, not perfection. Want to be someone who goes after a dream? Make one bold decision today like that person would.

📓 Track evidence, not perfection. Keep a small notes app or journal of “I did this” moments — your brain needs proof to feel confident in change. Growth sticks when you see that you’re already doing it.

There’s something about this time of year that just hits. The sun stays out longer, the energy feels lighter, and I find myself craving play—brighter colors, spontaneous moments, less doing and more being.

Lately I’ve been letting that energy lead—trying new things, saying yes more, leaning into beauty as a way of being rather than performing. Whether it’s a bold hair moment, a day in the sun, or just showing up softer and more sure… summer is the reminder that you don’t have to wait to feel alive.

You get to glow now.

Most mornings you’ll find me barefoot in the backyard, coffee in hand, dogs running wild, soaking it all in. But when the weather turns and the rain rolls in? That’s my favorite.

I light incense, crack thE windows, throw on a candle, and let the storm soundtrack OR SOMETHING ELSE VIBEY (DM US ON INSTAGRAM IF YOU WANT PLAYLIST inspo) set the tone.

It’s a reset. A reminder that you don’t have to fight the conditions — you get to work with them.

That’s been my whole approach lately: show up fully, — sun or storm.

There’s beauty in both.

4 years of White Brick in its current location means it’s been 4 years since Brandon surprised me at our brand shoot with a PROPOSAL! Brandon has been instrumental in helping me dream up the changes coming to White Brick and LITERALLY building them with me. So grateful for this love.

This week I also get to check off a major bucket list moment: seeing Tash Sultana at Red Rocks — on the summer solstice and on our anniversary. ✨ Her music has been my ride-or-die reset button when life gets chaotic. There’s something about the layers, the soul, the pure vibe that brings me back to center every time. “Electric Feel” is my all-time favorite, and while I already know this whole night’s going to be magic, that one is gonna send me!
